On 9 June 2023, Bayern Munich announced that they had signed Laimer on a free transfer until 30 June 2027.
On 8 August 2023, Laimer changed his number in Bayern Munich from 24 to his favourite number 27 as the number's previous owner Yann Sommer left the club.
